Drawing Portfolio
Take a moment to sit with each piece in the collection and simply observe the image before you. See if you can find anything in them that resonates with you or if they provoke something you would rather ignore. More than anything, my main goal is to invoke, inspire, and give my viewers a chance to slow down and focus on what's in front of them.
Stone Bust
This piece was an adaptation of a sculpture by Carl Dahl and is not an original concept thought of by myself. I found Dahl's original inspiration on Pinterest.
The vision of this original winged bust is noted in the cracks and crevices and serves as a reminder that things are often both beautiful and broken. The thin cracks in this drawing add depth, detail, and layers to the base shading and give the piece character and vulnerability, contrary to the medium of strong stone used in chiseling human figures.

Flowers of Eden
A tattoo-like representation, this drawing is based on the work of... and showcases a snake cooling itself around the petals and leaves of a single rose. One interpretation of this could be that the single central rose is a shy, reluctant self we refuse to share with the world, with the snake, or the persona we portray, wraps itself and guards the rose from the world.

Stone Bust 2.
Another drawing based on the sculpture work of Magdalena Thorlarsen found on Pinterest was an attempt at drawing the complicated female figure while showcasing highlighting and shading work, as well as the intricate visual components of the original medium of clay based sculptures.

Peony Blossom
Derived from my love of all things flowers and due to a personal connection with peonies, this piece is a simple black-and-white depiction of a backyard peony.
